Reviewed from notes.
Bottle to tulip.
Appearance: black in the pour and black in the glass with a finger and a half's worth of eggshell white foamy head which dissipated at a nice pace but barely left any lace
Aroma: sweet bourbon edged woody tones with super light coconut sweet accents; subtle vanilla laces some milk chocolate and dark chocolate whiffs
Flavor: does a very nice job of blending the prior noted aromas to a balanced sweet woody to sweet chocolatey and subtle coconut quality; finishes semi-sweet bourbon-like with the coconut and a lighter glance at the milk chocolate
Texture: medium bodied, this is a sipper despite the bourbon not really showing much spicy strength to barely any strength, I think some of the booze may have been felt just a bit; good length of the smoothness and a hint of dryness
Overall: I think because I was told to sit on this for several months that I must have had it at the right time (yes, a little bit of luck because I didn't know how much longer it would have been before the coconut turned into that "sun tan lotion" character) but also didn't want to have too fresh with the bourbon barrel having too much heat. Subtle pat on my back with the assistance of some knowledgeable friends.
