Description: Light. Smoky. Unique. Smokin’ Hell is a true German lager, inspired by the smoked beers of Bamberg. Helles means light (colored). It is golden in color, light in body, and has a tiny hint of smoke in the nose from 18% smoked malt. Baked bread and toasty flavors follow through the middle and a faint smoked note lingers in the finish.
Refreshingly drinkable and complex all in one glass.

Beer Name Explanation: “Hell” means light in German and we used 18% smoked malt. It’s smoky and light. Viola!

4oz pour at Jack Rose DC. Pours a totally clear gold with a ring of white head. Nose is very nice, lightly sweet, honey, some pear, a hint of smoke, burnt straw. Flavor has more prevalent smoke, more ashy, burnt hay, grass, peach, malt, honey. Clean finish. Actually very well crafted.
