375mL bottle from the brewery shared at the 21st Richmond Gathering, 11/1/14. Pours a dark brown with a thin fizzy brown head. Fair head retention. Aroma of roasted malt, apple, chocolate. The taste is bitter roast, chocolate, dark fruits. Medium bodied, definitely lacking on the hops for a black IPA.

draft at the source. poured a totally black color with a small light tan head. aroma is smooth malts, nice slightly citrus hops, some light floral and a touch of earth. Flavor was light bitter chocolate malt, some light roast malts. Chocolates. Smooth mouthfeel. Alcohol is mostly hidden in this one. Very enjoyable.
