Our way of doing things... American IPA

American IPA is a triumph of hops. The recipe pays homage to the breweries that sparked the craft beer revolution in the United States, showcasing the powerful aromatic contribution of local hops. Deep golden in color, it features intense and juicy notes of citrus and tropical fruit, underpinned by a resinous undertone. The malty base supports the aromatic intensity, yet keeps the drink light before a bitter and moderately dry finish cleanses the palate and invites another sip.

Baladin and Opperbacco decided to include in the Open Hub range a beer that pays homage to American brewing culture, particularly the great hoppy beers of the United States. Although Opperbacco is known for his great versatility, which has led him to experiment with a variety of brewing styles, including unconventional fermentations, he is also highly regarded for his generously hopped beers. With this beer, the Abruzzo-based brewer aimed to highlight the character of the great American hops, without sacrificing the overall elegance and delicate aromas.

Draft @ Popi‘s Pub, Affi. Cloudy pale yellow with a good white head. Aroma of lemons and grapefruits. Taste of grapefruits, malts, lemons, resin, minerals, some tropical fruits and herbs. Moderate but lasting bitterness. Medium carbonation. This is good.

6/VII/25 - on tap @ Open Baladin (Torino, IT), BB: n/a (2025-629)

Pretty clear yellowish blond beer, creamy dense white head, very stable, adhesive, patches of foam clinging to the side of the glass. Aroma: floral start, some tropical fruits, sweet impression, some apricot jam. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: a bit sweet, fruity, gentle bitterness, quite some citrus, a bit grassy. Aftertaste: quite refreshing, some tropical fruits, citrus notes, a bit soapy, piny hops, decent but overall too sweet to my liking.
