Traditional Beer - Kentucky Common Special|

A collaboration with DC Beer, Common People revives the historic Kentucky Common – a pre-Prohibition American style once brewed for everyday refreshment. A darker, more robust cousin to Cream Ale, with notes of toasted grain, light caramel, and a touch of cocoa. Smooth, balanced, and quietly complex, it finishes crisp and clean, honoring a nearly lost chapter of American brewing tradition.

Can to nonic.
Appearance: dark brown with a finger's worth of rustic cream colored head which dissipated at a moderate pace
Aroma: malty, nutty, sweet creaminess, cocoa powder, caramel and a little bit of breadiness
Flavor: seems to blend the prior noted aromas together in a sweet sort of way then finishes with some sweet grain and nutty to cocoa powdery sort of quality
Texture: light to medium bodied - maybe closer to medium bodied; sessionable; very smooth along the tongue with nothing distracting anywhere; good carb level
Overall: to me, it seems to come across like a brown ale which I didn't mind but I'm not exactly sure where the "Kentucky Common" style fits in this one? Hmmm...🧐

16oz can pours a murky brown with some creamy off white head. Nose has malt and heirloom corn. Some brown bread. Chewy in the mouth, brown sugar and maybe cocoa, but mostly malt and corn. Medium bodied and off dry, lightly chewy.

16oz can. At the February DCBeer share. Poured a nutty brown color with a medium sized light tan head. Aroma was sweet caramel notes, with some nutty, but with a crispness that was quite plesant. Caramel malt finish. Light and easy to drink.
