CAIPIRINHA SOUR ALE W/ LIMES, PASSION FRUIT AND CACHACA
When Brazilian brewery Escafandrista made the journey all the way from the other side of the world to join us at Winter Affair, it was clear there had to be a collab. The result is a truly exclusive addition to our Winter Affair Gossip series – a beer inspired by South America’s most iconic cocktail: the caipirinha. Expect limes, passion fruit and a gentle touch of cachaça in a refreshing sour ale.
For the third year in a row, we’re hosting our international tasting festival Winter Affair, and just as long we’ve been brewing collaboration beers with some of the participating breweries. It’s a uniqueopportunity to get to know each other better, share insights, and combine our brewing know-how. Beers brewed as part of the Winter Affair Gossip series are the result of these meetings – blending brewing cultures, unique recipes and a shared love for craft across borders and continents. This year, we were lucky enough to welcome Brazilian brewery Cervejaria Escafandrista to our Winter Affair festival – one of the most exciting craft breweries in South America. A truly exclusive occasion, and since they had crossed the ocean to visit us in person, a collaboration brew was simply meant to happen. Together, we decided to create a beer inspired by Brazil’s iconic cocktail – the caipirinha. Into the base of a light sour ale, we added juicy passion fruit, fresh limes, and a touch of authentic cachaça – a sugarcane spirit with a subtly earthy and warming character. The result is a refreshingly vibrant Sour Ale with tropical aromas, bright citrus acidity, and a gently exotic finish that’ll transport your palate a few thousand kilometers south. Light-bodied, juicy, and with a bold taste of Brazil in every sip.

From tap @ Plan B. Head is thin, white, quick gone. Colour is gold, hazy. Aroma is lime, passion fruits. Taste is medium malty base, lime, orange, tropical fruits, salty traces, decent bitterness, soft carbonation, good one, enjoyed for sure.

Tap at Brūstok 2026, with Gurthnar of course! Hazy golden body, off-white head. Lovely lime-driven aroma, fresh. Sweetish sugary lime-driven taste, ending mildly tart. So simple, the passion fruit giving it mainly some sourness, but so on point really, just tasty!

Tap at Brustok 2026. Too sweet, light sour. No beer character, substantial lime tho, and cane too. Too simple, drinkable but boring.
