568mL can, pours a deep dark reddish amber with a small beige head. Aroma has a boatload of caramel, toffee, bready malt, and subdued resinous hops. Flavour is very malty, with lots of caramel malt, bready notes, toffee, and some resinous hop bitterness that I wish was a lot more prominent. Too malty for the style, so not the best balance. I’m glad they attempted this, but it leaves plenty to be desired.

Bright reddish-brown. Medium head. Bitter, lots of sweet malt. Some alcohol. Lots of piney hop. The hop character is quite interesting, actually. Cascadey bitterness, but random red currants, cedar, white grapefruit. Interesting choice for a beer intended to showcase malts to lay down neomex, an experimental hop and a really obscure Czech hop. Well-balanced. Could do for a bit more body. But this isn't bad.
