This delicious creation was truly a product of creativity, ingenuity and luck. In the summer of 2013 we took a test batch of our sessional sour summer ale, Provincial, that didn’t quite hit gravity, and decided to have some fun with it! We added a heavy dose of raspberries. The end result was so delicious, we decided to recreate it! This delightfully tart fruit beer is refreshing, with a citrusy raspberry aroma which transitions to a subtlety sweet and tart finish.

Sampled at the brewery, 11/25/15. Straight up pink on the pour, and straight up raspberry pink grapefruit in the aroma and flavor. A bit tart and a bit sweet. Very flavorful, especially if you like those fruity flavors.

Sampled from the tap at El Bait Shop. Pours a cloudy, yogurty pink with a pinkish white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has tart and dry raspberry with a touch of yogurt and funk. Flavor has sweet raspberry upfront that quickly grows in bitterness with sweet grains and a hint of funk backing.

Draft 10 oz pour at the Falling Rock. I actually ended up with a bottle of this as well from my trip so I get to rate this twice! I’ll just rate my draft experience from notes, and hold the bottle for a few. Pours a glowing pink color with a pink foam ring head. I’ve mentioned in previous ratings how cool pink beer has become. No exception here. Huge tart fresh berry aroma. Flavor is heavy on ruby red grapefruit, maybe even more so than raspberry. Very tart. Delicious.

Bottle, brought by John to Ale Alpharetta. Cloudy, kool-aid pink, with no real head. Light berry up front, grain, and white bread. Sweet and fruity, with just a touch of acidic tartness. Light to medium body, silky, and smooth. This is a solid, fruity, and fairly dry beer.

Bottle thanks to Chow. Pours a hazy pink ruby with large frothy pink head that lasts leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong raspberry, funk, lemon, champagne. Thin mouth, tart berry, yeast, crisp, light dryness, champagne like, good.

Red color. Raspberry aroma and flavor, quite bit of berry flavor but not really sour at all; some light wheat. Decent fruit beer but I don’t know about calling it a Berliner.

On tap @ Funkwerks. Pours a bright Ruby Red Squirt appearance with a pinkish head. Foot sweat, stomach acid, raspberry tea, cheesy aroma. Pretty juicy flavor. Light bodied. A touch tart. Lemon and berry flavor. Ok.

Tap at the brewery - hazy pinkish pour - nose is all earthy raspberry and mild lactic tartness - frothy, soft.carbonation in the mouth - medium tart, moderate lactic notes, bright, quenching acids - raspberry character arrives late - it’s earthy and equal parts tart and sweet - this is followed by soft wheat tones - more of a fruit beer than a sour, but very refreshing.
