Very dark brown with a small soapy head that faded quickly. Strong cinnamon followed by hit pepper, vanilla, caramel, toasty malt and fig. Very long finish. Full bodied.

Tap at Gourmet Haus. Fantastic is all respects! The chili is always so subtle in the Perennial beers - the perfect way to brew it. Sweetness and malt combine for a great beer with dark chocolate and sweet molasses. Amazing!

Leggy, translucent brown sample at the roost. Ring of beige head. Nose is weird... huge baking spice, cinnamon and nutmeg, big caramel and treacle, cocoa. Not fully identifiable as a barleywine. Flavor has black pepper and cinnamon, nutmeg, booze, malt, caramel and cocoa. Definitely not a big stout base, but the adjuncts outside of the spices don't leave you feeling barleywine either. Finish is very spicy and peppery. Full bodied and sticky. Lots happening. 8 7 7 8 7.5
