The infamous mountain pass between Glen Coe and Kinlochleven has long been known as the Devil’s Staircase. The name was perpetuated by the navvies building the hydro dam who, on being paid, would walk to the nearest inn. The journey back from Kings House often proved more challenging and on a cold winter’s night the devil could claim his own.

Can from Oban Beer Seller. It pours clear gold with a fluffy white head. The aroma is toasty grains, spicy, bread, snappy biscuit, cereal and a touch of lemon curd. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, grassy, leafy, toasty grains, spicy hops, biscuit and bread with a drying, grassy finale. Average body and moderate carbonation. Crisp and quenching. Not weak or bland. Nice one.
