Draft at the source during RBWG. Dark amber brown color, tan head. Aroma of lightly toasted brown bread dipped in cocoa. Taste is earth brownie and coffee.

Draft at brewery at RBWG stop. Pours dark brown with off white head. Nose and taste of light smoke, toasted chocolate malt and mild pine. Lighter medium body.

RBWG14 Trip Rating #13. Draft at Barley’s, Asheville during RBWG Welcome Dinner. Pours a clear dark brown color with a thin frothy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, mild hops. The taste is roasted malts, chocolate, nuts, herbal hops. Medium bodied, simple, solid.

On tap @ source. Pours a bit hazy dark brown appearance with a khaki head. Cat chow, chocolate aroma. A bit smoky flavor. Some cereal. Roast. Moderately bitter. A bit chalky. Fine.

Draft @ the brewery. Pours a dark brown almost black color with a small tan head. Has a slightly roasted malty grainy aroma with hints of caramel and some hoppy hints. Roasted malty caramel flavor with grainy hints. Has a roasted malty grainy caramel finish.
