tap in Asheville - solid overall "house" IPA - nothing crazy distinct, but still quite good

Can from Bruisin Ales. Pours lightly copper tinged gold with a white head. Aroma of fruity hop, mild these, and some not at all dark malt support. Med body, or nearly. Flavor is light fruity hop, some light caramel, and a pretty decent dose of bitter. Not kidding about the 65 IBU. Sort of English bitter on a rocket. And I don’t mean arugula. Or maybe I should, since the hop is a bit herbal. The fruit hop likely isn’t bitterifying (new word there!) this ale. I’m pretty much liking it.

Can. Golden body with a frothy, white head. Light aroma of pine, grapefruit, pineapple, toasted grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Taste of pineapple, citrus, light raw grain, lingering bitterness. Both taste and aroma not as bold as an IPA should be.

Draft at the brewery during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours hazy gold with a creamy, white head. A nicely balanced IPA, with pleasant citrusy hops, pale bread sweetness, light piney bitterness. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Pretty clean on the finish, with moderate pithy citrus character. Good beer.

Location: Draft at the brewery, Asheville, 1/1/15

Aroma: It has a fairly mild aroma, light hops, orange/citrus, and a bit of bread
Appearance: It has a clear orange color with a small white head and some decent lace
Flavor: The flavor is along the same lines, with light malty sweetness and thin hops
Palate: The body of this one is light-medium, and it has a decent feel overall
Overall Impression: I actually preferred most of the other, less common, Catawba beers to their flagship IPA. It's a decent beer, but it's a little dull.
