A rich and fully flavoured Oatmeal Stout fortified with Brazilian Wagner Ferrero coffee beans sourced from Glasgow’s Parallel Coffee, along with ground green cardamom and a touch of desiccated coconut.

Treacle-sweet coffee hits first and balancing rounded bitterness swiftly follows as cardamom fruit-spice grows steadily in the background. Coconut remains in the shadows, quietly aligning with Cascade and Centennial hops to lend a subtle tropical note. This is a big, fruity, spicy, breakfast Stout, packed with oaty goodness and saturated with flavour.

Can thanks to my bro. It pours darkest brown to black with a bubbly khaki head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, charred, rich coffee character, berry, raisin, fruit loaf, cardamom, burnt toast, malt loaf, toasted coconut, umami and some liquorice allsorts. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, charred malt, umami, plenty of liquorice, chewy, burnt toast, dark roasted coffee, cacao nibs, cardamom, raisin, sultana and toasted fruit cake with a drying, dark roasted finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. A rich, toothy number..

Can from Against The Grain. Black body with a thick tan head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of coffee and green pepper. Flavour of cardamom and a hint of coconut. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. I like the three Cs in this beer but hadn’t ever considered them as a combo. I’m not quite sure they gel.

Can from the Oban Beer Seller. Pours oily black with a thick tan head. Aromas of coffee and cardamom, dark chocolate. Taste adds coconut in to the mix. The spices overpower a little, but interesting .
