Bottle from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours darkly ruddy with a slight, transient tan head. Aroma is quite sour/tart in a grapey way. Med body or nearly. Flavor is cherry/berry sour tart, but much milder than the aroma suggested to me. There’s some background oak astringency. Overall it’s red berry sour/tart. Just excellent. Think it might stand up to some of the Vestflanderen ales.

Bottle thanks to agentzigzag! Pours cloudy hazel with reddish hue, small bubbly tan head dissipates quickly with some lacing. Aroma is vinous, tart cherry, oak, malts. Flavor is dry, medium tart, oaky, malty, tart cherry, lemon, vanilla, almost a bourbon finish. Medium body, lingering tartness. Pretty tasty.

Pours deep mahogany into a tulip. Off-white head with little retention recedes to skim surface. Sour cherry and oak aromas. Sharp and tart with cherry and oak front to back. Abrupt whisper dry finish.

Bottle thanks to Tom. Pours a clear copper with small frothy off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is oak, grape, funk, red wine. Thin mouthfeel with strong oak, cherry skin, nice puckering sour finish. Really enjoyed this one.

Bottle @ home, picked up at the release @ Avery on Sunday. $12 / 12 oz bottle. Nice. Pours a deep reddish brown appearance with a brown head and good retention. A bunch of vinegar / acetic acid, leather, and dark berries / blackberries in the aroma. Plenty of oak, tannins, dark grape, and plum. Pretty tart flavor but not crazy sour. Brown sugar and caramel pretty prevalent. Oak and vanilla are pretty strong in the flavor. Some vinous and grape notes as well. Finishes pretty smooth. Kind of tasty but nothing crazy good.
