Egremont Russet Single Variety Cider
This cider is made by the Traditional Method, a technique pioneered by cidermakers in 17th century England, but perfected in the Champagne region of France. Carefully crafted from Egremont Russet, the most noble of all apple varieties, the cider was vinified in both steel and oak.
It then spent two years aging on lees in bottle before disgorgement and the addition of a small dosage. It was then further cellared for 18 months before release. It is a finely balanced, rich and intense expression of the fruit, showing a dazzling array of yellow apple, honey, pineapple and star anise flavours, along with subtle autolytic notes from the lees aging.
It's perfect as an aperitif but also exceptional with rich shellfish dishes.
9.9% ABV. Drink cold. Gluten-free. Vegan friendly. No added sulphites

750ml bottle pour at Obhal Cider Tasting, Custom House, Edinburgh 28Mar2026. Pale golden colour, bubbly foam head that quickly dissipates and aroma of apple, fruit. Taste is drying, appley, fleshy, fruity, white wine-champagne like notes, yeasty bready hints, with some acidity. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry finish. Nicely drinkable.
