A Lukas Liquors exclusive, (from Jonathan Moxey) Brettopia has "a significant portion of malted white wheat in the grist provides a fluffy mouthfeel on an otherwise lean frame. Hefty late and dry-hop additions of Mosaic and Amarillo create an intense aroma of stonefruit and spice. Brettopia is Perennial's first beer to be bottle-conditioned with a unique strain of Brettanomyces, which creates a crisp finish, racy effervescence, and a yeast character that will continue to develop with time."

Sample at Ginger Man NYC. Cloudy golden-orange color with a medium foamy off-white head that diminishes slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of funky fruit, yeast and malt. Light-bodied with a mildly funky character and flavors of ripe fruit, earthy yeast and malt. The finish is lightly tart with a fruity aftertaste. Decent overall.

12oz draft snifter at SmallBar on Division in Chicago. A surprisingly boring brett beer, its funny what the craft scene has come to. A brett beer just isn’t good enough nowadays. Its golden color, slight hazy. Aroma is lemony and floral. The aroma has a soft cottony feel on the nostrils. A bit of urinal cake. Flavor is similar to the nose and has a long herbal brett finish. The body is thicker and not vibrant like I would prefer.

Bottle on the bus during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours cloudy gold with a white foam head. Tasty. Good melon and citrus fruits present, with faint brett funk and a bit of bitter, wet hay. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet to finish with more ripe melon. Nice. The brett doesn’t seem to have really taken hold just yet.
