Full-bodied, roundly-malted Belgian-style tripel. Strong & spicy with an herbal hop presence, suggestions of lemon & golden raisin in the nose and an earthy dry finish.

Tap at Bluejacket. Unfiltered orange-tan. Thin, oily head. Zest tripel, seems like it has some sour lacto tones. Balanced, with that pedio thing going on. Pretty great for a US Tripel, but it has those earthy, funky undertones to separate it from a classic example. Quite nice.

Draft at the source. Clear deep golden color, small white head. Aroma of subtle white pepper. Taste is sweet peppery straw. OK.

Copper pour with ok head and lacing. Very wooden with astringent barrely finish. Only light hints of lemon, and some nut. A little off style. Thanks to Travlr for a taste of this. Tap at brewpub.

Taster sized pour at the source. Poured a hazy, yellow color with a small white head. Aroma was some tropical fruit notes, light fruits. Flavor was sweet candi notes, a touch of barnyard funk. Light and crisp finish. More like a saison than a tripel, due to lack of any familiar tripel yeast characteristics, but still quite tasty.

4oz pour at the brewery while I waited for bottles. Pours a hazy, bright yellow with some creamy white head. Nose has a lot of tropical fruit, candy sugar, star fruit, a bit of booze, some yeast, papaya, some spice. Flavor is mostly candy sweetness followed by white peppercorns, some tropical fruit too, booze, a little plastic. Peppery, thick, boozy finish. Not bad.
