Pour is a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is sticky toffee pudding with some brown sugar sweet malt. Flavor is toffee and a nice bitterness. This was not barrel aged but I get some oak and vanilla. This was a flavorful English winter ale with a little something different with each sip.

Draft at the brewery during RBWG 2014 - Asheville. Pours clear amber with a creamy cap. Tasty, with dry and toasty bread, light earthy bitterness, pine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet on the finish, with more bread, earth and grains. Good stuff.

Location: Cask at the brewery, Asheville, 1/1/15

Aroma: The aroma is on the lighter side, with some light spice and malty notes
Appearance: It pours a murky brown color, with a slight orange hue to it
Flavor: The taste is along the same lines, fairly light, with some spice and malt notes to it
Palate: The body is light, not super watery, but a little thin, with a mild overall feel
Overall Impression: This one isn't too bad, but I just felt it was light overall on flavor. Not bad, not great. This was on the lower end for me of the Catawba beers I tried.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear deep amber with a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has dankness to it with a backbone of grain and light spice. Flavor has a nice light grain with a bit of grassy hop and a warming caramel note.
