Thick and boozy, heavy with plums and toffee, backed up by lemon zest, candied orange peel, pine, and currant. Finishes with some oak and a vinous note. Not bad, but the twelve ounces add up.

Draft at the source. Hazy deep amber color, large bubble head. Aroma of light brandy, vanilla, subtle cherry, butterscotch. Taste is sweet, light spice, fruit. Light body.

Taster at Moondog Growlers in Dunwoody. Pours dark reddish-brown with a thin, beige head. Strong caramel, with sherry, honeydew, lemon zest, and cinnamon. Very sweet, balanced well with a nice bitterness. Heavy body, vinous, and sticky. Overall, a nice, sweet, and well balanced barley wine.
