Saint’s Share is a bold tribute to Ireland’s most legendary day. This 10.2% Imperial Stout has been aged in Irish Whisky Oak barrels, soaking up waves of vanilla, toasted wood and warming spirit character. Rich, dark and indulgent, it’s liquid luck. Tasting notes include - roasty, dried fruit, light treacle, fruity Irish whisky, gently boozy.

Sláinte to the barrel.

Dark black pour with a small, but stable tan head. Aromas of vanilla, cream, oak, (roasted) cocoa, whiskey, some boozy notes as well. Taste is cream, oak, vanilla, sweet bread, cocoa/chocolate, dried fruits, whiskey - long, decent finish. Nice one, enjoyed it.

Keg at Dogtap Ellon. It pours jet black with a small, but sturdy tan head. The aroma is rich and unctuous, oily, bitter - sweet, vanilla, toasted marshmallow, rocky road, nougat, chocolate, whiskey soaked oak, saline, maritime vibes, dark roasted malt and mocha. The taste is dangerously smooth upfront, warming, dark roasted malt, bitter - sweet character, more umami than on the snout, liquorice, charred oak, chocolate gateaux, cacao nibs, Irish whiskey soaked oak, some dried fruits, fruit cake, plum pudding and warming booze with a drying, toasty finale. Fulsome body and moderate carbonation. What's not to like? A BA stout which isn't a pastry is a novelty nowadays. Well crafted.
