This is our first single variety cider made with White Norman, with the apples hand picked from an organic orchard in the quiet village of Blakemere which lies just down the road from our cidery. The orchard itself is full of magic and during the harvest is a place where apple picking and birdwatching happen in equal measure.
Food pairing suggestions: This cider has the merest hint of natural sparkle, leaving space for the rich viscous fruit to take centre stage. In the mouth it has a flavour reminiscent of strawberry gummy sweets. We like to pair this with a young, creamy brie.
The story behind the cider: Pale lemon yellow with an almost translucent skin that seems to last mere seconds on the orchard floor is what characterises White Norman, fondly referred to by us as ‘moon fruit’. On a long day of handpicking in the orchard, it’s often the tree we’ll leave until last, owing to its almost luminous glow which allows us to see these moon bright orbs even as dusk descends.

750ml bottle from Artistraw. Orange golden colour, short-lived bubbles on top that dissipate to a thin rim and aroma of ripe apple, fruit, funk hint. Taste is sweetish, appley, juicy fruit, some woody & funky notes, with mellow acidity. Medium bodied, low carbonation, medium finish. Nicely drinkable.
