Buttery grape nose. Clear purple. Pinot noir grapes, very wine-like. Plum and blackberry, relatively dry. Medium body, velvety mouthfeel. Too much like wine.

Bottle from the source. Brilliantly clear deep purple. Beautiful nose of tart berry and light sweet honey. Somewhat dry and almost puckering with the tart berry and tannins. IMHO this needs a bit of sweetness to round it out completely.

Bottle purchased at my local Market Basket. Sat in my basement for close to a year. Time to open... Purple ruby color. Aroma is mild berries with a pretty strong amount of honey.

Flavor has a bit more ancho then I was expecting. Mild blueberry, hint of old lady’s perfume and a good amount of wildflower honey. If the alcohol was toned down it would improve the overall experience.

Bottle from The Beer Junction, Seattle; synthetic cork
Measured Final Gravity: 1010

Dark red dull color. Mild aroma of berry wine. Smooth mouthfeel in the front, lightly alcoholic and astringent later. Some berry flavor, but no harmony, and most of all no mead character. I’m drinking expensive booze, I don’t think I’m getting value for the bucks.

Draft at ChurchKey, they gave me like 8 ounces of this stuff instead of the 4oz pour, what are they thinking. I’m now drunk. Poured a hazy, purple color with a small light blue color. Aroma was so-so, a bit medicinal, soapy, light berry. However, while the aroma was so-so, flavor was very pleasant blueberry.
