To celebrate five years of Rackhouse, we revisited the idea behind 3 Bean and pushed it deeper with more complexity. Five builds on that familiar foundation of cacao, tonka, and vanilla, with coffee and carob added to mark the occasion. Extended time in oak brings everything together. Layers of dark chocolate, espresso, and subtle spice are rounded by barrel character. It’s big, decadent, and made to be savoured.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is huge tonka, vanilla, meaty, roasted coffee, chocolate, taste is similar, light bitterness hint.of cinnamon. 8/9/9/9/8

Opaque colour and tiny brownish head. Strong aroma of bourbon, coconut and alcohol. Medium-bodied to full-bodied. Bourbon, sweetness, cocoa, coconut... warming. Ok. TCBW 26

TCBW2026. Pitch black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is chocolaty, some plum, figs, mild wooden tones with vanilla and mild spiciness. Also a bit coffee and tonka to it. Flavour is quite similar to the aroma. Good balance, and though alcohol is somewhat evident in there, it also fits in to it.

Bottle. Quite a lot of tonka going on here, which I sure like. Coffee, dark chocolate and a touch of oak and licorice. Vanilla and coconut hints. Delicious indeed.... except there's a sourness going on, might be due to a bad barrel. Nice balance between sweetness, alcohol and bitterness. Some generic spiced hints and toasted black pepper in the swallow. Even though there's a disturbing sourness here, I really like it. Guess you need to like tonka to appreciate this one though. 949516 260514

Sweet, heavy and roasty with some warming alcohol, coffee, dark chocolate, mocha, cocoa, hints of tonka, vanilla, oak and wood. Quite heavy chocolate liqueur-esque slow sipper, luckily tonka is quite well hidden.
