16 oz. can, from weihenweizen. Pours black, with a small, fizzy, tan head. The nose is big roasted coffee up front, with some nice notes of cloves, peat, and vanilla. Sweet and malty, with a mellow, pleasant bitterness. Heavy body, chalky, a little astringent, and syrupy. This is a big, flavorful porter. Coffee and roast forward, without the acidity and burnt flavors. Very nicely done.

16 oz can courtesy of DCLawyer, thanks Jason! Dark brown with light tan head. Aromas of roast, dark chocolate, malt, grains. Tastes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate. Medium body with a dry finish. Pretty solid porter.

Thanks DCLawyer for the can! Poured into a snifter showing translucent black center and coffee rims with half a finger of quickly dissipating latte colored foam. The nose shows clean smoky roasted malts. The palate is light bodied and highly carbonated. Flavors of clean roasted malts with a light tea-like/caramel aftertaste. Completely dry and ending on a light roasted malt bitter note.

16 oz can poured, much thanks to luttonm/pruf for the share, and the opportunity to finally knock this tick off. 2 more to go! Pours a dark brown with a tan cream head and lacing. Cool aroma, a bit nutty, roasted malt, and a sweet and dark fruit. Flavor is a creamy, toasty chocolate malt, some vanilla. Good roast here. Nice flavor. Well put together porter as an overall. Solid.

Can. Pours hazy coffee brown with airy but stable tan head. Clear aroma of roast, malt and yeast, with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Bitter, roasty and coffeelike flavour with notes of grain and yeast and hints of fruit and touches of hops. Roasty and estery aftertaste with slightly acidic hints. Medium carbonation. Well-balanced and good. My first West Virginia tick, after years of hunting for one.

Draft. Deep brown body. Frothy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, ash with hint of coffee and chocolate. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/creamy texture, lively carbonation. Solid porter with good mix of ash, tobacco, coffee and chocolate tastes riding on light sweetness.

So, I went to what seems like the best liquor store in Morgantown, WV and they only had a handful of beer from their own state. Of course, none were in the small build-a-six selection. Out of the 6 or so available beers, this 4 pack of tall boys was more interesting and more affordable than anything else. I poured this beer into a lambic tumbler that was meant as a gift for Pruf but I forgot to give it to him. Mind you, I only have the light from my computer to assist in the pouring since my wife and baby daughter are sleeping and the lights are off. I have been slowly drinking this beer as I upload ratings from earlier in the day when I visited 2 breweries (the consequence of moving cross country and running out of 4G data). And I have to say, its a damn good porter. It like a chocolate float beer thing. No burdensome bitterness from hops or malt, no acidity of the black malts. a real soft and light mouthfeel. I can smell it for a long time. The flavor waters-out a bit at the end. But what a great little surprise. Also, generally not bad at $8.40 for a 4-pack of tall boys. Great looking beer for a dark room.
