Can thanks to Weihenweizen. Opaque very dark brown with decent sized spongy beige head, mocha aroma, high carbonation, lightly bitter mocha taste after initial sweetness, thin body, medium bitter mocha finish, Quite smooth and enjoyable, a good porter.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a black color with a large fluffy brown head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was roasty, toasty and malty with a moderate note of vanilla. The flavor was toasty and malty with notes of vanilla, cocoa and coffee. Long finish. Moderately full bodied and fairly smooth. Solid.

Can: Dark brown with a small tan head. Cocoa and coffee aroma. Taste is sweet coffee malt, cocoa. A mild, oily/licorice/tobacco note. Really tasty.

Can as a bonus from JStax, drunk 12/10/15.
Dark ebony with light mahogany highlights on the edges. Opaque. Medium tan head shows poor retention.
Beany, somewhat, but with fudge, dark chocolate, light vanilla and definite cigar/tobacco notes. Nothing terribly heady/fruity/light but what it loses in the beany character, it makes up for in a very prominent complexity with no flaws.
In the flavor, it’s rather brown ale-like; watery, vaguely roasty and mostly just full of light caramel and vanilla. Soft chocolate and a light coffee roast do give it a real porter character, but it’s just incredibly thin. Though, I suppose, the original porters were probably not rich and chewy and intensely roasty. Like the dryness, that’s for sure.

Can (courtesy of Weihenweizen - thanks). Strong coffee, chocolate malt and ash aroma. Dark brown with large tan head. Mildly sweet coffee ground, chocolate malt, and mildly bitter herbal hay and ash flavor. Nice body. Very nice.

On tap at PNP Charleston. Black with medium beige head. Aroma is roasty, medium body, well carbonated, and good thin small bubble lacing. Taste is rich roast and some coffee. Pretty good porter.
