Our porter has a rich coffee smell and first taste, followed by hints of chocolate and tobacco. Mildly sweet.

Many thanks to weihenweizen for bringing this can to Europe. Fresh chocolate nose. The beer starts malty dry, chocolate with a nice deep round bitterness. Very dry with chocolate hints, caramel, milk-chocolate, dry roasted grain. Nice.

The aroma is earthy, toasty, rich roasted malt, dark chocolate, ash and burnt toast The taste is dry, bitter, charred wood, ashy, bitter - sweet, dried fruits, chocolate, bit of peppery spice and brown bread with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Robust. Decent porter.

Can shared in Hackney - picked up in a trade. Pours rich brown with a creamy, tan head. The nose holds brown bread, milk chocolate, dried berries. Medium sweet flavour with touches of ash and old wood, bitter coffee, dark chocolate, scorched earth. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Balanced finish, with more ash, bak but no cocoa, good roast, char. Nice toothy porter.

Opens with a massive swath of dark chocolate, then picks up mild cherry and fig before heading into a heavy roasted espresso finish. Lingering bitterness clears up any potential cloy notes. Aroma is amazing, waves of cocoa and coffee coming up from the pint. Pour's good as well, dark brown with slight red edges and a nice head with ample lace. Sparkly texture a tad too boisterous but otherwise creamy. Not a bad porter at all.

RBSG bus share. Normal looking dark brown pour with small beige head. Roast grains feature prominently in aroma and taste, with notes of cocoa and coffee. Small hints of sweetness, then a bitter end.
