A basic pils with a surprisingly malty and bready backbone. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy bright yellow color with a large fluffy yellow -white head that left very good lacing. The aroma was somewhat bitter with a bit of a tangy and sour undertone and notes of lemon, perfume, bread and chalk. The flavor was dryish and bitter with a crisp perfumey presence and notes of citric hops and a surprisingly strong bready and malty undertone. Long bread and malty finish with almost honey and lingering lemon and perfumey hops. Moderately full bodied. The alcohol was well contained. Quite nice for what it is.

About a 3.75 for this 7% DP. Not overly sweet like most of the style. Good hop punch, earthy, medium sweetness. I like.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy golden straw color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, orange zest, pear, apple, pepper, cracker, bread, floral, grass, light pine, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of malt, hop, and yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon zest, grapefruit, orange zest, pear, pine, cracker, bread, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon zest, grapefruit, orange zest, pear, pine, cracker, bread, floral, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance of malt, hop, and yeast flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice imperial pils. All around well balanced hop, malt, and yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

This beer pours a clear golden color with a medium thin white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, malt and citrus. Medium-bodied with flavors of herbal hops, malt and fruit. The finish is mildly bitter with a grassy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft at Screw City Beer Fest. From Notes. Pours a hazy dark gold with a white head. Aroma and taste of bready and doughy yeast. Citrus and pine hops. Pretty decent, but not super special.

From a bottle this color leaves no inkling of the flavor. Looks like a pale lager but has a piercing hop bite that approaches many strong apa or mild ipa. Long bitter super strong pils finish. Lasts a medium amost of time before the finish mellows out. Does not hide the alky well, even at 7%. Not much in the aroma.
