Tap at Gordon Biersch. Sweet brown baker's chocolate. Kind of has a licorice buttery undertone that is true to style, but not really desirable either. Great mouthfeel, but perhaps a little old or an off tap line.

Cherry, chocolate malt, ash, and hay aroma. Black with moderate brown head. Moderately sweet chocolate malt, and mildly bitter hay and ash flavor. Good body.

27/6/2018. Draught at the Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant, Las Vegas. Pours murky dark brown with a frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, hops, caramel and a hint of liquorice. Medium sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, average carbonation.

On tap at Gordon Biersch, Taipei. Clear, almost black with a medium head. Caramel, light roastes malt, some fruit and hints of bread. Soft and easy to drink.

[2/20/15] Draught at Gordon Biersch Mission Valley in San Diego. Dark brown. Aroma of roast, coffee, caramel and some diacetyl. Sweetish flavor with roast, a faint buttery note, a nutty note and a drier finish with a coffee hint. Light to medium-bodied, kinda over-carbonated. Easy-drinking.

Not so bad really, just, well, not so good. Pours dark maroon with some vague notion of head and lacing. Aroma has an IOU roast with a hint of coffee even. Light bitter finish. Average carbonation, as can be expected. Tap at brewpub.
