This year’s anniversary barrel-aged barleywine is a blend of richly luxurious English-style barleywine aged for a year in Woodinville whiskey bourbon barrels blended with an artfully selected proportion of decadent imperial stout aged for two years in the same Woodinville whiskey bourbon barrels. A case study in the art and alchemy of spirit barrel-aging amplified by the magic of oak and micro-oxygenation, Barrel-aged Year 3 is an ardent celebration of four years of crafting precise, intentional beers.-Ladd & Lass.

16 oz. can, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small beige head. Aroma has plenty of dark dried fruits, toffee, brown sugar, some roast, and gentle bourbon barrels. Flavour is rich and complex, with plenty of bourbon barrels, dark brown sugars, some roast, and toffee. Great malt depth, accentuated well by the barrels. Excellent.

Dark brown. The aroma has a fair bit of vanilla, a bit nutty. On the palate, nice bourbon, again the hazelnut accent, nice syrupy notes, light fruitiness. Solid stuff.

Poured from 473mL can (canned Jan 3, 2026). Very dark brown with small beige head. Nicely balanced woody bourbon with light dark fruits, could use a touch more body, but quite nice.

473mL can. Pours dark brown with a very small beige head. Tons of bourbon barrels, brown sugars, and dark candied berries on the nose. Flavour is rich and malty, tons of brown sugars, syrup-laden brown bread, candied dark fruits, and loads of bourbon barrels. A light touch of wax on the finish, but it's in the background. The malt expression here is fantastic.
