Dark brown coloured body with a small tan head. Aroma of toasted malt, caramelised sugars, earth, toffee and a touch of light chiles as well. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong roasted flavours of malt, sugar and a bit of grain along with some very subdued and stale hop flavours and the slightest bit of heat noticeable. Aftertaste shows some grain, toffee, light lactose and a hint of coffee bitterness as well. Overall, not a horrible beer, and while not a great option given Chicago’s offerings, not as bad as other 5 Rabbit beers I’ve had. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Chicago (Streeterville location), Illinois on 13-Nov-2015 for US$2,49 sampled in my hotel in Streeterville, Chicago on 15-November-2015.

Aroma was pretty good for the style - caramel malt, fruit, anise, hint of chili. Flavor falls down a lot along with body. In tasting I get marshmallow, burnt toast, light syrup, a little fruit, some bitter. Thin body. Wouldn’t drink again.

State and Lake, Chicago tap: pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is light chocolate and pepper. Chili taste is not very light in there, and this is not spicy as some beers are, but the flavor is there. Mostly a malty beer that is moderately sweet. Not bad.
