Delaware Schooner is inspired by the small wooden ships used to dredge oysters in the Delaware Bay, USA.

We took our foundational stout recipe and amped it up with additional rye malts, US grown Chinook and experimental HBC 630 hops and fermented it with an expressive east coast yeast strain. The result is a hazy mahogany dark ale with distinctive notes of dark cherry, spruce tips, a squeeze of citrus with leathery tobacco and oyster minerality undertones wrapped up with a substantial bitter finish.

Can picked up at the brewery by my mate Daz. Pours like gravy! Not sure what’s going off but it’s thick as a bag. Sits ominous chocolate brown with a slim viscous being foam. Can’t meet my mind up if it looks good or not. Nose has sugary espresso. Citrus hop leaf. Some light savoury notes. Taste has light sweetness and big semi mineraly bitterness. Slick with good body. Big bitterness to finish with a light milky coffee sweetness knocking about. Fucking bosh.
