We’re celebrating 16 years with the people who’ve had our back since day one — including our friends at Fremont Brewing, who teamed up with us to make Unplugged, the first of two anniversary IPAs. It’s a modern PNW IPA: Chinook, Columbus, a little characterful malt, and all the resin and brightness that makes Northwest beer worth arguing about.

473mL can. Pours a hazy golden blonde with a small white head. Pine, some dank notes, a bit of citrus, and biscuit malts on the nose; smelly a bit old. Flavour has a dry old pine, citrus peels, biscuit malts. Not bad, but showing its age.

16 oz. can (5 months old), pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Nose has plenty of resinous hops, some pine, a touch of cardboardy bready malt due to the age. Flavour is a little faded in hop expression due to age, with some pine, bready malt, and toasted notes. Sad to say this is no longer all that enjoyable due to the age, but I’m sure it was very good fresh. Rated as is, it’s alright.

Dullish, slightly hazy, with a bit of head. Aroma is more citra than chinook or columus, with that allium. Moderate bitterness, but the hop expression is a bit brighter on the palate, though muted. It's in that pomelo types of citrus. The balance isn't bad but it's definitely not prime age.

Draft at Homebrewstuff. Cloudy golden pour, spotty head, streaky lacing. Musty, tropical aroma, notes of stone fruit. Taste is fruit rind, stone fruit, light mango with some latent bitterness.

Clear light gold body with thin white. Pleasant citrus aroma. Citrus taste, orange and tangerine taste. Lasting citrus finish. Happy Birthday!
