Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 33B: bourbon / 30A: orange peel, cocoa nibs / Base: 20C). Can 33 cl - Batch BA212 2502 (BB: 0231). AROMA: medium to medium-high blend of bourbon, cocoa and orange in less intensity. slight roasted malts in the background. APPEARANCE: very dark brown color and opaque. medium-low brown head, creamy, with medium-low retention. leg formation. TASTE: initial medium-low orange, followed by medium-high bourbon and cocoa. background of roasted malts (coffee-like to burnt). medium bitterness with a semi-dry and roasty finish, balancing the initial malt sweetness. MOUTHFEEL: full body and silky smooth. medium-low carbonation. alcoholic warmth but not very hot. OVERALL: an interesting combination of a barrel aged imperial stout and orange peel and without an overwhelming presence of the barrel.

Draught Very dense, ultra-stable russet head over jet black beer, leaving shards of lace. Bourbon, raisins, Madeira, vanilla, black chocolate and roast aromas. Bourbon, black chocolate, restrained fortified wine, raisins. Mild, sweet roast. Fantastic MF, chewy, oozy as a rich sauce, thick; medium carbonation. Rich, and very well-balanced, which is not often the case in this kind of beer. Like it!
