Our latest release of our barrel aged “funk” beers from our cellar, aged nearly two years in a red wine Bordeaux barrel with the addition of Brettanomyces yeast. This barrel aged brown ale is complex with notes of fruit, spice, acidity, oak, and alcoholic warmth. Bottle conditioned with a third fermentation in cork & cage style champagne bottles, it’s a great sipper to share at the table and will age nicely in your beer cellar. This limited edition batch yielded only 224 bottles, each one hand numbered, drink it now or take it home, while supplies last.

750 mL bottle, 80 of 224, at the DC Summer Saison & Sour Tasting, 7/12/14. Pours a hazy copper color with a thin fizzy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of caramel, tart fruits, sweaty socks. The taste is tart and salty notes with some caramel. Thin bodied, off balance, brash and dirty.
