One of the brewers favorites, this Dopplebock was lagered extensively to create a medium, full body with a creamy, smooth finish. Notes of rich malty flavored caramel with dark fruit sweetness of Mission fig, plum, Medjool dates, toffee, and a slight coffee note. A truly festive and celebratory beer.

16 oz can. Thanks to S & L. Aroma shows me a toned down caramel, toffee, yeast. Having a true authentic Doppelbock front of it really makes it slightly pale in comparison. Almost has a table sugar hint to it. Just ok.

Can pour shared by CLW--thanks, Chris! Clear, maple-syrup brown, thin cap of head, trace sparkle, trace lacing. Aroma is strong caramel, light spice, fig. Taste is strong caramel, fig, dark fruit, undercurrent of brown sugar, light spice. Smooth texture, average carbonation, finish as taste. Interesting contrast with the German Dopplebock I just had--this is more complex but, perhaps, unnecessarily so and much sweeter. This had MORE to it, but the Asam Bock just did what it did better. Good but not great.
