Made in collaboration with Garage Project, Wellington NZ and brewed with Dave Bell, Head Brewer at their Wild Workshop, this ale was made with organic grains and aged hops. It was fermented with a mixture of Wildflower’s house culture of yeast and bacteria foraged from native flowers in NSW as well as a mixed culture pulled from GP’s ‘Chance, Luck and Magic’ spontaneous beer barrels.

It aged in small and large format oak for 1.5 years before being refermented on choice Tumbarumba Chardonnay from Johansen Vineyards in 2025. It macerated with the fruit for an additional 8 months before being married with cherry stones to lend a nutty finish.

10kth Brewver rating. Probably my last new Wildflower at least until they set up shop elsewhere. Bottle, 12C. Very clear rosy amber, fading white head. Aroma is floral, mildly funky and a bit nutty with some berries. Just medium bodied, low carbonation. Slightly slippery. Has some acidity but it's hard to say that it's sour. A little fruitier - berries, grapes, apricots - than it smelled. Some boot polish, oak, hints of spices and bracken. Quaffable with some intrigue - which is what I'm after.
