A blend of whiskey barrel, wine foeder, and stainless aged sour beers, Love Child No. 4 opens with an aroma of red fruit and underripe strawberries. Slightly more acidic than previous Love Child releases, this blend marries dark fruit flavors with subtle earthy notes of leather and mushroom with a lingering, acid finish that closes crisp and dry.

Den andra i Boulevards Love child-serie jag har smakat. Bärnsten med inslag av orange och rött. Minimal skumslöja. Syrlig doft av citrus och grape. Hittar ingen brett i doften.

Bottle 750ml @ Christianssand Brygghus, Kristiansand
Pours clear deep amber with a small off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, red berries, vinegar, dried fruits, funk and hint of alcohol and oak. Taste is light sweet, light bitter and medium sour with a long slightly warm, sour, berry fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is sllightly fizzy

Bottle, 75cl corked, at Christianssand Brygghus. A clear one, amber in color, with a small, dense off-white head. The aroma is very fruity, with red berries, some caramel malts and vinegar. Hints of alcohol both in the aroma and the flavor. Berries, some almonds and dried apricots, a funky touch and some vinegar. It’s more or less full bodied, with a soft carbonation, quite dry, lightly tart. Lasting fruity finish. A very pleasant one, refreshing and tasteful, although I prefer the aroma over the flavor. Just slightly though. 150328

Bottle split at Bruce’s, from an IP trade with fbc24, 29/01/15. Hazed orange amber with a decent off white covering. Nose is bitter fruit, acidic strokes, light tropical notes, pissy, rotting melon, dark fruit rinds. Taste comprises tarte peach, blood orange, vinegar, quite a big acidic pang, lemon rind, pissy wood, damp straw, funk. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, tarte fruit and puckerings at the curtain call. Solid sour.

Hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Pretty tart, wet wood, dankness. Dried fruits and lemon acid. A bit too sharp.

Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle corked and capped poured into a tulip. Aroma is nice tart cherry, medium body, medium carbonation, and thin small bubble lacing. Taste is tart cherries, oak, and really nice red wine. Really good, but closer to a Flemish red to me rather than just a regular sour.
