Bottle from Raynville Superstore. It pours crystal clear yellow/blonde with a medium fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, fresh, fragrant, fruit, pear, melon, apple, twist of citrus, bready, biscuit and some gingery spice. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, clean, some bitterness, pithy, zesty, lemon - lime, melon, pear, custard apple, bread, sponge cake, biscuit, custard creams, some warming spice and ginger with a drying, spicy finale. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Rounded and quaffable.

On tap at Hops, Crewe. Pours a hazy gold with minimal off-white head. There’s malts and corn in the aroma plus hints of spice. In the mouth it is quite bitter but with a little underlying sweetness and a creamy texture. Yeast is prominent in the flavour, alongside Belgian hops, pepper and spice. Hints of berry fruits and alcoholic strength come later leading to a somewhat spicy finish. This is a decent Belgian style pale.

Bottle @ home. Clear golden body under a huge, foamy white head. Arom has pale malt and quite much in the spicy/herbal direction, very delicate. Sweet and refreshing the way only Belgium beers seem to handle, mild pale malt, spicy/herbal and some bitterness. Actually, a tad more bitter than usually for a Belgium blond – otherwise this is ultra typical, traditional Belgium blond and it’s best. Love it or leave it!
