Our latest New IPA is our first beer made using Vermont grown hops. We dry hopped this with Champlain Valley Chinook and Crystal. If Northeast pineapple was a thing, this is what it would taste like, maybe a hint of herbaceous tea note in there…

Very yeasty though this has sat in my cellar for quite a while and I didnt disturb the can. Fruity and yeasty up front with a bit of twangy pineapple/citrus and a touch of pine. Not so much the christmasy spice you want from Chinook. The yeastiness calms down somewhat, but I don't love that pineapple/overripe stone fruit character lingering.
Yeasty in the flavor, too, with a lot of doughiness. Dried apricot and mild pineapple with a bit of citrus zest. Basic white bread-like maltiness gives enough texture, but it's a bit overly soft with that twangy pineapple/stone fruit on the end. Far from unpleasant, but not KF's best work. I think they got what they were looking for, but Northeast hops (as much as I hate to admit it) are a far cry from NZ/AUS/PNW.
