Our friends from Tooth and Nail Brewing stopped by GLB to put together a beer in a style that's been lost to time.
Pilsator was an East German version of a pilsner prior to reunification. It was distinctive for two reasons: its use of adjuncts (always verboten in West Germany) and the influence of Czech lager brewing on its flavour profile.
With reunification came the return of austere brewing techniques, and Pilsator faded into the foggy corners of beer lore. This version is our best attempt at recreating the style.

A hazed blonde pils with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, crisp biscuit malt with grassy resinous hops, light mineral notes, flowery, pleasant. In mouth, a nice crisp biscuit malt grassy German hops, light mineral notes, light cereal, pleasant. On tap at brewery.
