Brewed with Citra and Idaho 7 hops, Jacktail opens with bright notes of mango, papaya and citrus zest, balanced by a smooth, lightly sweet body and soft finish. Refreshing without losing depth, this is the kind of beer you reach for after a long ride, a swim in cold water, or a slow evening watching the fire burn down.
As a new permanent addition to Elysian Brewing’s portfolio, Jacktail builds on the momentum of Elysian’s Space Dust series, offering something born from the Pacific Northwest’s wild, untamed roots.

19.2 fl oz can. Pours a hazy yellow gold with a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that leaves thick curtains of soapy lace. Sweet fruity aroma of bready wheat malt, orange zest, mango, pineapple and floral hops. Sweet fruity flavour of bready wheat malt, orange zest, peach, pineapple, mango and light pine in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average to soft carbonation. Juicy and easy to drink.

Can sent by Elysian for review. Pours a hazy, almost cloudy white in a yellow envelope, thing layer of foam vs. the huge heads I usually get when pouring from a can. Nose of pineapple and guava, followed by slight piney hop. The taste is mildly malty, with hops coming to the forefront. The descriton mentions acidulated malt, and I think I catch that, adding a bitter puckery note that the hazy hops would be missing.
