The Flat12 Porter is inspired by the robust porters favored by the Industrial-age working men of Europe. We chose to emphasize balance from a combination of dark grains including brown malt, which was the primary roasted grain of the time. This Flat12 creation is smooth and balanced with slight roast and chocolate notes, yet it’s not heavy, just like a good porter should be. ABV: 5.5% IBU: 34.1

12oz bottle from StFun poured into a shaker. Pours almost black with a slight ruby hue and a huge nut brown head. Aroma of coffee and a little dark chocolate. Taste is light bitter. Milk and dark chocolate and strong espresso on the finish. Medium bodied with a thin texture. Fizzy carbonation and a very long finish. Overall, great. This would nake an awesome everyday drinker.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of queenholly. Color is deep brown, borderline black. Nice head retention that left foam after the beer was complete. Nose is real deep molasses, in fact layers of molasses, also chocolate and traces of wood. Flavor is in reverse order with chocolate up front then getting molasses and Earthy, burnt coffee. Texture is dry and roasted. Whoa, thanks for this bottle Rebekah! This is no doubt a fresh bottle. Well above average porter. Real easy to chug down!

Found this at RBWG, which is good for the brewery as the bottle I tried was terrible. This one was a growler. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, nuts, chocolate, mild hops. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, nuts, mild hops. Medium bodied. 8/3/8/3/16.

Previous rating (6/2/5/3/8)... 12 ounce bottle from a trade. Pours a.... OK now half the beer’s on the floor and I have a glass full of foam. The worst gusher I’ve seen in quite some time, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be good. Just ask De Dolle. I’m going to let this one sit for a while.

OK... just poured the rest of the bottle down the drain because I got sick of dealing with it. Got maybe about 4 ounces in the glass. Aroma of chocolate, mild herbal notes and an ashy note. The taste is chocolate, mild roast, and a mild hop finish. Medium bodied. Not a bad beer, not a good experience.

tap at the brewery - Pours near black with a tan head. It smells of roast malt and chocolate. The flavor is of sweet roast chocolate malt with good balancing hops. It’s medium bodied and very tasty, a fine porter. This brew was the girlfriend’s favorite of their ten offerings and my second favorite.
