This delicious pale ale is juicy, hazy, and crushable. A totally new-school take on an old-school American craft beer, Envie is bursting with glorious hop aromas of mango, lychee, orange, and other tropical fruits. This beer pulls of the incredible feat of having the best juicy qualities of hops but none of the harsh, bitter finish you may be used to.

Süffiger, cremig hopfiger Beginn. Geringe Herbe, weiche Bitterkeit, der Hopfen intensiviert sich etwas. Weich, kurzer Abgang, erfrischend. Bleibt nicht lange im Gedächtnis. 10/7/8/8/9/8

Aromas are a nice balanced mix of citrus and resin hops with a bit of pale malt. Flavors are similar to nose, leaning very slightly sweet with enough carbonation and bitter to balance. Good body. Tasty and satisfying. Nice beer.

On tap at The Chimes - East, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out chalk, muffled earthy hops, and bready malt. Flavour is muffled, with earthy hops, some cardboard, and chalk. Either the hops are not fresh or this is just another sloppy hazy that has a muddled palate. Either way, not great.

On tap. Pours a hazy light gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has sweet citrus and sweet grains with a bit of sweet grass and light tangerine underlying. Flavor dank citrus with sweet grains and tangerine backing.

On tap at the brewery. Hazy yellow with white head. Fruity, citrus, some grapefruit, easy going, bitterish finish. Medium bodied.

Pint can. Pours a cloudy yellow color with a big white head. The aroma is citrus like with pineapple and sweetened grapefruit. The taste is mild with grapefruit, lemons, bread grains and pine resins. Palate is a tad light but appropriate for the style. Finishes dry with some lingering bitter grapefruit. Overall: very nice

Bottled 3/20. Wit-like pale orange with a dense white head that lasts really well. Aroma of Meyer lemon, crackers, citrus blossoms, hints of nectarine and rockmelon. Pretty much how it tastes. Lovely citrus, just a little sweetness, bitterness a bit lower than expected but it's fairly dry at the end so it's enough. Delicious.

Pale gold with a frothy white head that turns creamy and lingers for the duration. Aroma full of citrus. Taste is bitter with a crisp, clean finish. Medium bodied, a hint of water at the end. Nothing big errors here but there‘s not much of a malt profile for the balance that would make things more interesting..

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/30/2019. Pours very hazy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, citrus peel/zest, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly resinous mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.1%. Overall this is an excellent American pale ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and pretty refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish; awesomely soft feel for the ABV. Feels like Centennial and Amarillo. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great wheat/malt backbone for the ABV. Mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. Feels very close to a New England style.
