Bottle @ home. Thanks to arminjewell for picking me up some bottles. Pours a fairly clear golden yellow appearance with a white head. Lots of pear, apple, white wine, chardonnay, zippy carbonated/spritzy, somewhat spicy aroma. Big champagne, thick chardonnay, cider, apple juicy, white grape, spicy, a bit woody, tangy, strong flavor. I don’t get any butter but this fucker does have an alcohol burn which doesn’t match well with the acidity. A lot of people on RateBeer and Untappd have been noting butter but it’s not apparent in my bottle. Not horrendous for sipping but kind of hard to drink normally. Probably my least favorite of Avery’s barrel releases.
