Tap at Bluejacket. Burgundy brown body. Rich figgy, fruity Barleywine, maybe UK influenced....maybe just not that hoppy. Its OK, but just a little one-dimensional in its nutty, fruity sweetness. Unique I guess too, but not so great.

Keg at Bluejacket, 8/19/14. Pours a clear dark brown with a thin creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of toffee, anise, candied fruits, earthy notes. The taste is toffee, banana, earth, caramel, citrus hops. Medium bodied.

4 oz draft pour shared by maniac at Bluejacket during Travlr’s 10k celebration. Clear brown with off-white head. Aromas of caramel, honey, apples. Tastes of caramel, toffee, dark fruit. Medium body with a dry finish. Low carbonation.

Reddish cloudy pour with decent head and lacing. Dangerously light on booze in aroma. More like a Belgian strong than a barley wine. Finishes with light sweetness. Pours cloudy light brown. Tap at brewpub.

Sampled on site. Pours a caramel amber with some sudsy, slightly off white head. Nose had some malt, toffee, cracker, raisin, orange, mild almond. Flavor was the same, malty, sweet, mild orange, raisin, toffee. Lightly boozy finish. Not much happening.

Draft at the brewery. Poured a dark, amber color - some ruby notes. Head was off-white. Aroma was sweet malts, light grains. Flavor was berries, fruit notes, some light caramel. Alcohol is totally masked.

On draft at BlueJacket Brewery. Pours a hazy amber with an off white head. Nutty aroma. Flavors of caramel and some tropical fruits. Boozy finish.

Draft at the source. Clear deep amber red color, white edge head. Aroma of berries and stone fruit, lightly toasted caramel. Taste is fruity, berries, definitely a big beer. Nice stuff.
