Growler shared by Gene at the RBWG 2014 grand tasting, thanks! Pours a clear brown with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a musty dark grain note with light roasted malts backing. Flavor has more roasted malts and chocolate with a smooth dark grain finish.

Draft at Rustico - Alexandria. Poured a near pitch black color, maybe extremely dark brown color, medium sized tan head. Aroma was dark roasted malts, plenty of nice fruity notes. Some coffee notes, bitterness. Flavor was nice, creamy chocolates, coffee, anise notes. Very very drinkable.

12oz pour at the brewery. Inky black with one ring of white head. Nose is excellent, chocolate, molasses, malt, toast, licorice. Flavor has a lot of licorice but not overly sweet, dark chocolate, malt, toast, coffee. Full, dry finish. Lovely.
