Portcullis Porter is a traditional dark ale built on Maris Otter and layered with chocolate, brown and amber malts. Roasted richness meets balanced bitterness from Challenger, with Dana adding a subtle herbal lift. Smooth, robust and satisfying with a dry finish. A proper pub porter.

I spent my glass refund from the Skipton Beer Festival on this local clear brown coloured porter. Good-looking and well-stated in regular terms in both aroma and taste. An agreeable sugariness develops in its aftertaste, getting quite sweet in this respect.
