On tap at Capitol City Brewing - Downtown, October 2011. Clear yellow with a small white head. Aroma and taste of fruit, malt and some grain. The body was light as was the carbonation. Drinkable but not that exciting.

Draught at the brewpub. No aroma to speak of. Clear shiny yellow colour. Small white head. Good malty flavour with a hint of fine hops. Faint hint of sourness in the finish, but not problematic. Not as clean and crisp as a real Kölsch, but OK.

A pale blonde kolsch with a very thin white head. In aroma, light malt with strong chlorine (maybe from the washing). In mouth, a nice clean crisp kolsch with smooth hops, tingly and quaffable. On tap at brewpub, Feb. 26 2010.

Sample at the Downtown location. The beer is a clear yellow-gold color with a thin and fizzy white head that burns away quickly. Spots of lacing on the glass under a ring at the top. Fruity aroma with malt underneath. Light and crisp body with flavors of fruit, sweet malt and mild grassy hops. The finish is fruity with a short mild bitterness left over. Just average overall.

Location: Draft Postal Building Location - From the sampler glass 3/7/09.

Aroma: Subtle, boring typical Pils-like nose
Appearance: Clear, yellowish
Flavor: Slight fruits, not much else there
Palate: Light body, thin, no lingering taste
Overall Impression: I’m not a Kolsch guy, For the style it was better then average, but I still couldn’t rate it much then this.

2009-10-11, draught at the brewpub, Downtown location, 6-4-7-3-14=34
Pale blond color; creamy head. It has delicate hoppy aroma, but light; the mouthfeel is quite dry, the body is light, but there is a pleasant crispy malt and a good bitterness level. Good and refreshing.

Blond color. Simple aroma and flavor, but at least the flavor is crispy. If just they used more hops…

Shockoe festival Richmond VA-Draft: Cabbage and carrot aroma. Yellow color, crystal clear, thin head. Little initial taste leaving veggie and grain on the palate. Not great but was refreshing in the Richmond heat.
