This is a black I.P.A (Get it? Black Eye P.A.) that first hits you with a big floral hop aroma that really invites you in. Upon tasting this beer, the chocolate malty flavor overtones take over the forefront of the pallet. It then returns to you and finishes with a traditionally big I.P.A. hop character. We’ve only brewed a limited supply so don’t miss your chance to try some and get knocked out with flavor.

Draft at the source. Clear dark maroon color, fluffy tan head with good retention. Aroma of peppery cocoa owder. Taste is roasty coffee grounds, cocoa. Decent.

Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 9/20/13

Aroma: The nose is decently roasty, pretty malty, with some hop notes as well
Appearance: It poured a dark black color with a small head (could barely see it in the dark bar)
Flavor: The taste is fairly balanced and on-style, with roasted malts and some hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has a slightly chewy feel, and a dry, roasty finish
Overall Impression: This was a decent Black IPA overall. Not great, not bad, just straight-up decent. I could certainly drink it again.

My first beer from Keegan Ales! Dark ruby brown color, small beige head. Light citrusy hoppyness and some toasted notes in the aroma. Medium-bodied. Cold coffee and hayish citrusy hoppyness. Crisp carbination. This kind of toasted coffee flavor doesn’t work to me so well.

Draught. Weak fruity aroma. Black colour, small tan head. The flavour is hoppy, nicely grassy. Slightly roasted finish.
