At Lambikstoempers’ Bierweekend in Alsemberg. Thin, stable, off-white head, lightly hazy orangey ’old gold’ colour. The aroma is not very inviting for a beer presenting itself as a saison: some caramel, dried apricot, straw, but also a sweaty graininess, something raw vegetable-like and iron. Restrainedly fruity taste, quite crisp but a bit thin in body, slick, lightly metallic, grainy, just a tad honey sweet which increases as the palate progresses; some mildly bittering, grassy hops in the finish. Lacks complexity, esteriness and body, I expected a lot more from a saison from this brewery.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is hazy amber. Aroma and taste are malt, fruits, yeast, caramel and hops.

Bottle @ Danish Summer Gathering 2015. Pours muddy golden with a creamy bubbly head. Rotten fruit, yeast and esters. Waauw. Something is wrong here. Normally a great brewery!

Bottle, 5.3%. Unclear amber with medium tan head. Aroma is malt, yeast, caramel, spices and toasted. Flavour is malt, yeast, caramel, toasted, spices, herbs, medium sweet and a little bitter.
